Thank you for booking on the NEBOSH Construction Certificate (UK) run by Quiz Training. We hope that you will enjoy your learning with us. Our aim at Quiz Training is to give you all the information, guidance and support you will need to pass the NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction (UK), but you will need to make a significant effort yourself.

Training Programme
The training will be delivered over 6 days. The schedule is shown below. If you have any travel problems on the days of training, please contact the training center. Whilst we will not be able to delay the start of the training day, we will work with you to catch up anything you missed.
If for any reason you are unable to attend for a training day, through sickness or other bone fide reasons, please let us know as soon as possible. We will be able to supply you with any course materials you have missed on the day, and give you additional support to catch up. If you miss more than 1 day, it may not be possible for you to catch up the training you have missed.
If you chose not to complete the course you will not be entitled to any refund of the fees paid.

Assessment
Assessment will commence at 11.00 hrs on xx/xx/24
You will have 48 hours to complete the on-line assessment.
Following completion of your assessment you will be required to undertake a professional review with one of the Quiz team. This will be a remote meeting which will be recorded. Details will be agreed with each individual. This will normally take place in the week following the assessment.
Course Text Books
You will be provided with a full set of text books which are specific to the NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction Certificate (UK).
Syllabus
Details of the NEBOSH Management of Health & Safety in Construction (UK) Certificate syllabus are shown in Appendix A. We would recommend that you familiarise yourself with the syllabus before you start the course, as this will give you a good indication of what you will be learning.
NEBOSH Learners Terms and Conditions
National Examination Board for Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) is the awarding body for this qualification. You are recommended to view the NEBOSH web site as there is a wide range of information available on this site which is relevant to the course.

Facilities at the Training Centre
Refreshments
- Quiz Training will provide free tea, coffee and water.
- Biscuits will be provided free of charge, (beware these may contain nuts)
Lunch will not be provided by Quiz Training, however there is a cafes and other food vendors within the CEME Campus. We will normally have 60 minutes for lunch, and we would encourage you to take some fresh air and light exercise.
If you wish to bring a packed lunch you are very welcome to eat your meals within the CEME campus. We have a microwave for heating food, and a fridge for keeping you packed lunch cool and fresh. We would encourage you to take some fresh air during your lunch break, but if you chose not to you are welcome to stay in the Training Room.
Smoking
The CEME Campus is a smoke free environment. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the CEME Campus. Smokers are requested to smoke outside the building, using designated smoking areas.. There will be regular breaks during the day.
Prayer Rooms
Quiz Training are unable to provide any specific facilities for prayers, however if you wish to pray during the day, please speak with the Trainer who will be able to provide you with some space.
Complaints
If you are unhappy about any aspect of the service of Quiz Training please raise your concerns immediately. Quiz Training want to sort out any problems as soon as possible, with the minimum of disruption. Complaints should be raised with your Trainer. Only where these cannot be resolved, should the formal complaint process be used.
If your complaint is about the Trainer, you may wish to go directly to the formal complaint process.
A formal complaints process is detailed in Appendix B.
Appendix A
NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction Certificate (UK)
Syllabus Summary
Learners will be better able to influence their on-site colleagues to work more safely; because they will gain the confidence and technical know-how to challenge unsafe behaviours and offer practical solutions.
Aligned to CDM regulations, NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) is guided by legislation but focused on best practice. The broad syllabus includes:
- CDM roles and responsibilities
- Health and safety culture
- Assessing risk
- Managing change
- Excavation
- Demolition
- Mobile plant and vehicles
- Working at height
- Musculoskeletal health
- Work equipment
- Electricity
- Fire
- Chemical and biological agents
Physical and psychological health. With an emphasis on practical application, successful learners will be able to:
- Recognise, assess and control a range of common construction hazards.
- Develop safe systems of work.
- Take part in incident investigations.
- Advise on the roles, competencies and duties under construction legislation.
- Positively influence health and safety culture.
- Confidently challenge unsafe behaviours.
- Help manage contractors.
Appendix B
Quiz Training Formal Complaints Process
This is the only method of official complaint and must be completed by the actual learner. Quiz Training are unable to deal with complaints from a learner’s family, partner or associates unless the learner is under 18.
There are 3 stages in the complaints procedure and each stage must be fully complete before proceeding to the next one. You are advised to keep copies of all the documents used in the complaints procedure.
Stage 1 (immediate solutions)
If you are still completing your course you must first contact your tutor/trainer who will endeavour to deal with your concerns, fairly and quickly. You should raise your concerns within 7 days of the matter in question. Your tutor/trainer will fully investigate your concerns and address accordingly. If your complaint is about your tutor/trainer and it would be inappropriate to discuss the matter with him/her you may begin with Stage 2.
Stage 2
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of stage 1 or if you are no longer on your course please contact the Quality Assurance Manager

Details of your complaint should be fully explained and any supporting evidence should be included at this stage. Your complaint will be fully investigated, and may be passed to an independent person to investigate. You may be contacted and asked to give further evidence, or to clarify points in your original complaint. Once your complaint has been fully investigated you will receive written confirmation of the findings of the investigation, and the outcome.
